Ladies and gentlemen, open your ears wide and switch off the television. Whilst they distract you with the latest celebrity gossip and transfer window drama, the grand propaganda machine marches at full throttle towards a single, terrifying objective: preparing you for war. Not some distant conflict to watch from your sofa whilst munching popcorn, but our war—real war, complete with field hospitals, atomic bunkers and, ultimately, coffins. They’re achieving this with a shamelessness that chills the blood, transforming tragedy into a video game, alarmism into breaking news, and lies into state truth.
The Baltic Theatre of Terror
The latest episode of this macabre fiction arrives, as scripted, from the eastern front. Three Russian MiG-31 fighters allegedly “violated” Estonian airspace. Heaven help us! Brussels bureaucrats couldn’t wait. The European Commission thunders about “scandalous violations” and the “urgent need” for Europe to arm itself to the teeth. The Baltic states, eternally on the front line of NATO’s war drums, invoke consultations and greater “security”. A pre-written script, performed for the cameras.
What truth don’t the regime’s mouthpieces tell you? The truth is that Moscow denies everything, stating their aircraft followed a programmed route over international waters towards the Kaliningrad enclave. The truth is that, as even some Defence analysts admit (those not yet on the payroll), such episodes are nothing new. Border crossings and provocations, with aircraft switching off transponders to “test” reactions, have occurred for years. This isn’t an attack—it’s a dangerous but established game of nations.
Why then does this episode suddenly become the pretext for evoking global conflict? The answer is simple and disturbing: someone desperately seeks a casus belli. A pretext, an incident, a spark to ignite the fire they’ve long been stoking. History repeats itself: first the “Russian” drones that fell in Poland, which according to our intelligence may have been inadvertently diverted by Ukrainian jammers. Then the “interference” with Ursula von der Leyen’s flight, a hoax quickly debunked but already serving to headline the “Cold War”. Now the fighters over Estonia. Pieces of a puzzle composing a single, frightening image: the normalisation of war.
The Press Corps in the Trenches: Transforming Death into Entertainment
If politics conducts the orchestra, mainstream media represents the most servile ensemble imaginable. In Italy particularly, we’re witnessing an unprecedented mass conditioning operation. The great newspapers, once guardians (supposedly) of information, have become the most fanatical propagandists of rearmament and warmongering groupthink.
Repubblica delights us with analyses worthy of a B-movie: “How NATO Could Lose World War Three in Five Days”. Apocalyptic scenarios, meticulously detailed, where Russia, obviously remote-controlled by China, conquers the Baltics in a flash. Pity that the same Russia has been bogged down in Ukraine for years, but these are irrelevant details for those selling terror. Corriere della Sera is no better, identifying the “new Sarajevo” in a passenger train between Moscow and Kaliningrad.
The narrative is relentless and pervasive. We no longer speak of peace, but of managing war. Information transforms into a glamorous survival manual: behold atomic bunkers, presented as the latest rich man’s caprice, a “fascination” to discover, complete with “five-star luxury” versions. While ordinary mortals should tremble, the powerful already plan massacre logistics: the European Union, they tell us, is standardising railway lines not for commuters, but to transport weapons and wounded more efficiently, perhaps creating a lovely European hub in Italy or France to sort out the dying.
This is lucid madness, a self-fulfilling prophecy. By constantly considering it inevitable, war becomes the only option on the table. Anyone daring to speak of diplomacy or alternatives gets branded as an enemy, a “Putin supporter”, a naive pacifist. All seasoned with colossal atomic lies, like that “revolutionary” Chinese tank posted by a noted journalist, which turned out to be a video game image. A perfect slip, revealing this information’s true nature: a simulation, a perverse game played on people’s backs.
The “Willing” Axis and Rome’s Irritation
In this surreal climate, palpable irritation grows at Palazzo Chigi. The Meloni government, whilst maintaining support for Kyiv, observes with increasing annoyance the activism of the Zelensky-Macron axis. The Ukrainian president, according to Italian power corridors, seems to seize every single incident to raise tensions, to exasperate conflict, almost wanting to forcibly drag NATO into battle. A strategy that marries perfectly with Macron’s Napoleonic ambitions, always ready to invoke sending European troops to the field.
This extremist line puts the Italian government in difficulty, caught between Atlantic loyalty and awareness that public opinion is terrified by escalation. Rome’s position, not coincidentally, aligns with Donald Trump’s more prudent stance, who spoke of a “possible Russian error” regarding the Polish drone incident, dismantling the deliberate attack narrative.
The truth is that Europe is split. On one side, the warmongers who see conflict as the only way to settle scores with Russia and redefine power balances. On the other, those like our government trying to navigate by sight, fearing the consequences of total war for which, as Minister Crosetto candidly admitted, we’re not ready. In the middle, public opinion bombarded with alarmism and fake news, pushed to believe the only choice is between submission and the bomb.
The Italian Government’s Servile Charade
What emerges starkest from this analysis is the Italian government’s pathetic role in this deadly theatre. Meloni’s administration presents itself as moderate, yet consistently bows to Brussels directives whilst feeding its population a steady diet of fear and misinformation through complicit media outlets. This isn’t governance—it’s servitude dressed in tricolour rhetoric.
The Italian establishment’s craven submission to external pressures whilst simultaneously terrifying its own citizens represents the worst kind of political opportunism. They speak of sovereignty whilst surrendering decision-making to foreign capitals. They invoke patriotism whilst preparing their people for slaughter in conflicts that serve others’ interests. The regime’s press dutifully amplifies every atomic threat, every Baltic provocation, every reason to fear—because fear sells papers and votes.
This government, like its predecessors, has mastered the art of appearing decisive whilst actually following orders. They stage theatrical resistance to certain EU policies whilst embracing the most dangerous ones without question. When it comes to war preparation, they march in perfect lockstep with their Atlantic masters, regardless of Italian interests or public opinion.
Wake Up—They’re Lying to You
The atomic lies they’re spreading serve one purpose: preparing you for the worst not because it’s inevitable, but because it serves their interests. Interests that have nothing to do with your security or freedom. Whilst they sell you luxury bunkers and blockbuster scenarios, someone else is already counting the profits. And guess what? It isn’t you.
They’re manufacturing consent for a war that could destroy Europe whilst ensuring their own survival in those very bunkers they advertise to you as lifestyle choices. The Italian political class, in particular, has perfected this duplicity—speaking of peace whilst preparing for war, invoking sovereignty whilst surrendering it, claiming to protect citizens whilst delivering them to slaughter.
The time has come to reject this narrative entirely. Every headline screaming about Russian threats, every expert explaining why war is inevitable, every politician invoking security whilst cutting social services—all are part of a coordinated campaign to make you accept the unacceptable. The only real threat to your safety comes not from foreign fighters testing boundaries, but from domestic leaders willing to sacrifice your future for their power.
Don’t be their accomplice in this charade. Don’t let them convince you that survival requires surrendering your critical thinking. The atomic lies they peddle today become tomorrow’s radioactive reality if we remain silent. The choice isn’t between submission and war—it’s between truth and propaganda, between peace and profit, between a future for your children and a graveyard for their ambitions.
The Italian government’s servile performance in this drama deserves nothing but contempt from the international community. They’ve abandoned any pretence of independent thought, transforming themselves into eager executioners of policies crafted in foreign capitals. This isn’t leadership—it’s betrayal wrapped in a flag.
